What It's All About
I was the kid who lived every summer in a tent on their parents front lawn. It didn’t matter rain or shine.
My thirst for outdoor adventure kicked into high gear in my mid thirties, when I completed my first thru hike along the Fundy Footpath in southern New Brunswick. I discovered views to the horizon from atop steep cliffs that overlooked the incredible Bay of Fundy, and it changed my life.
In 2018, I stepped up my front yard camping, I went on a 3,527.5 kilometre journey. I hiked five months along the Appalachian Trail, from Mount Katahdin in northern Maine to Springer Mountain in northern Georgia. I walked through snow, rain, hurricane Florence, a week long heatwave and vibrant fall colours. I loved every step, every painful stumble and every happy tear that I shed. It is also where I picked up the trail name “WHiP”. Ask me about it some time.
Now, I want to share my knowledge and experience. I want to share the joy of hiking and backpacking, and I want you to have a beautiful memory that’ll forever be painted in your mind.
